Chapter 01
What we look at before quoting a rebuild against a replacement
A station that starts and stops, loses prime, or runs hot is not automatically a station that needs replacing. The photograph above is one of ours, and almost everything in it can be renewed independently: the suction side and its strainer, the brass shutoff, the discharge plumbing, the valve manifold, the wiring and the controller. What usually cannot be renewed economically is a motor that has been run dry or a pump body that has lost its seal faces.
So the first visit is a look at the suction side, because that is where most stations actually fail. Air getting in ahead of the pump will make a perfectly good pump behave like a failing one, and the cause is often a cracked fitting or a strainer nobody has opened in years. If the pump end is sound, a rebuild puts the property back in service for a fraction of a new station.
If it does need replacing, we size the new one to the zone with the highest demand rather than to the largest motor that fits the pad. Oversizing is a real and common mistake: too much pressure atomises the spray at the heads, the droplets blow away, and the far corner of the property still comes up short.

The timer and controls are part of the job, not an upsell
A station without working controls is a station that runs when somebody remembers, which in practice means it runs too long in the wet season and not at all in the week it matters. New timer and controls go in with every rebuild and every new install, wired so each zone is separately switched and the low voltage is dressed clear of the valve bodies.
That last detail sounds small. A chewed or pinched common wire is the single most frequent reason a whole system goes quiet at once, and it is almost always the result of wiring run across the top of a manifold where it gets stood on and strimmed.
Controls also make the water conversation possible. Once the zones are separately timed you can water beds and turf on different schedules, run a reclaimed line on the days the county allows, and actually see which zone is responsible when the bill moves.
Chapter 03
Low lying ground, and why city departments send people to us
On flat Brevard lots a pumping station does more than push water at sprinkler heads. It collects settled water off low lying areas and moves it to where it is wanted, which on a property that ponds after every summer storm is worth more than the irrigation itself. The same station can be combined with any irrigation system already in the ground.
We work with and are referred by city water departments, and have for most of the time this company has existed. That matters most on reuse and potable connections, where the work has to satisfy somebody other than the homeowner, and it is the reason we would rather do a job to the standard the county expects than to the standard that passes a glance.
One customer summed up the repair end of it after twenty eight years in the same house and many sprinkler pump repairs. Chuck was the absolute best, and they have been with us since. That is the work.
